Aligning Text in Word - Image Tutorial

Aligning text is easy and useful. You will need to use it depending on the type of document you are writing. There are four options: left align, right align, centered and justified.


How to Left Align Text in Word:

  1. Open Microsoft Word.(How do I open microsoft word?)
  2. Type in text.



  3. Highlight the text you would like to align.



  4. Click on the left align symbol on the formatting toolbar.



  5. Or
  6. Click Format on the menu bar.



  7. Click Paragraph.



  8. Select Left beside "alignment:".
  9. Click Ok.


How to Right Align Text in Word:
  1. Open Microsoft Word.(How do I open microsoft word?)
  2. Type in text.



  3. Highlight the text you would like to align.



  4. Click on the right align symbol on the formatting toolbar.



  5. Or
  6. Click Format on the menu bar.



  7. Click Paragraph.



  8. Select Right beside "alignment:".
  9. Click Ok.


How to Center Text in Word:
  1. Open Microsoft Word.(How do I open microsoft word?)
  2. Type in text.



  3. Highlight the text you would like to align.



  4. Click on the center symbol on the formatting toolbar.



  5. Or
  6. Click Format on the menu bar.



  7. Click Paragraph.



  8. Select Centered beside "alignment:".
  9. Click Ok.


How to Justify Text in Word:
  1. Open Microsoft Word.(How do I open microsoft word?)
  2. Type in text.



  3. Highlight the text you would like to align.



  4. Click on the justify symbol on the formatting toolbar.



  5. Or
  6. Click Format on the menu bar.



  7. Click Paragraph.



  8. Select Justified beside "alignment:".
  9. Click Ok.
