Changing Layouts & Columns in Word - Image Tutorial

Changing layouts is used to create different types of documents such as newsletters and flyers.


How to Create a Two-Column Newsletter in Word:

  1. Open Microsoft Word.(How do I open microsoft word?)
  2. Type in a few sentences.



  3. Highlight the text you have typed.



  4. Click "Format" on the menu bar.



  5. Click "Columns...".



  6. Click on the image above "Two". (Want to add a line between the columns? Check the "Line Between" box.)



  7. Click Ok.
How to Create a Three-Column Flyer in Word:
  1. Open Microsoft Word.(How do I open microsoft word?)
  2. Type in a few sentences.



  3. Highlight the text you have typed.



  4. Click "Format" on the menu bar.



  5. Click "Columns...".



  6. Click on the image above "Three". (Want to add a line between the columns? Check the "Line Between" box.)



  7. Click Ok.

    To turn the page to landscape.
  8. Click on "File" on the menu bar.



  9. Click on "Page Setup..."



  10. Click on the "Paper Size" tab.
  11. Click on the circle beside "landscape".
  12. Click "Ok".

    *Note you may not see three different columns. It may look like one small column on the left side of the sheet. This means there is not enough text to fill the other columns so type in some more text.
