Cut, Copy and Paste Image Tutorials

To transfer pictures from a digital camera to your computer using cut, copy & paste
  1. Plug the USB cable from the camera into the computer or put the camera memory card directly into the computer (if your computer is compatible).
  2. When the window pops up, click view files. (If the window doesn't pop up, open my computer and continue the instructions)



  3. Find the folder with the pictures in it by navigating the folders.



  4. Click on the folder with the pictures in it that you would like to put on your computer.



  5. Click on the word "Edit" on the menu.



  6. Now you have a decision to make. Would you like to leave the pictures on the camera or would you like to keep them and just copy the pictures to the computer.
  7. To leave the pictures on the camera, click "Copy" in the Edit menu. To move them off the camera onto the computer, click "Cut".
  8. Now we have to decide where to put them. I suggest you make a new folder called "Pictures" on the computer C: drive. How do I create a folder
  9. Now that the folder has been created. Click on "Edit" in the menu bar and "Paste" the pictures.



To go to a website without having to type in the address using cut, copy & paste
Sometimes you see a web site address in a document or on another web site that you want to go to but it has a long address and you don't want to type it in.
  1. Highligh/Select the address of the website on the document.
    How do I highlight/select text?


  2. Left Click on Edit on menu. Select Copy.


  3. Left Click in the address bar.


  4. Press Ctrl + V on the keyboard (this means press and hold the ctrl key then press the V key.


  5. Press ENTER on the keyboard.


To copy text already typed to another program or location
Sometimes you have text typed into a document and want to duplicate it.
  1. Highligh/Select the text in the document.
    How do I highlight/select text?


  2. Left Click on Edit on menu. Select Copy.


  3. Open the document you would like to copy the information to and Click Edit.


  4. Left Click Paste.


  5. Here is the end result.
