Method
1: Creating a shortcut using right click:
I usually use this method but the other one is just as easy.
- Open Windows Explorer or My Computer.
How do I open My Computer?
- Find the program or file, you want to make a shortcut to.

- Right click on it.

- Go over "Send To".

- Click on Desktop Shortcut.

- Rename the shorcut on your desktop if you wish.
(You can do this by right clicking on it and clicking
rename.)

Method
2: Creating a shortcut by dragging and dropping:
This method is great for when you want to put the shortcut in the start
menu or desktop.
- Find the program or file, you want to make a shortcut to.

- Right click and hold the mouse button. (normally
drag and drop is the left mouse button)

- Drag the file, folder or program to the desired location of the shortcut.

- Release the right mouse button.
- A small window should appear. Left click on Create Shorcuts Here.

- Rename the shorcut if you wish. (You can do this by right clicking
on it and clicking rename.)
